Investigative journalist Anabel Hernández warns that remaining silent kills freedom and justice.

Anabel Hernández is a Mexican investigative journalist whose work on slave labor, sexual exploitation, political corruption and abuse of power, and drug cartels has appeared in a variety of newspapers, magazines, and books.  In 2012, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers presented Hernández with their annual Golden Pen of Freedom Award and published in their World Press Freedom Day publication her editorial titled "The Perverse Power of Silence."  In that editorial she wrote, "If we remain silent we kill freedom, justice and the possibility that a society armed with information may have the power to change the situation that has brought us to this point."  The title of her presentation is "Narcoland."
