As many of you may know, the violence in Syria has lasted for over a year and has resulted, according to UN estimates, in the deaths of upwards of 8,000 people. These numbers shock our collective consciences. The IRC is sponsoring an informal student-led discussion this Saturday, March 10th, at 3 PM in the Athenaeum. If you are interested in the Middle East and the Arab Spring, are seeking to understand a bit more about the conflict in Syria,or need a break from studying, please join us! We hope that this discussion can be where all opinions are heard, and where those who are interested in furthering Syria-related activism at Carleton and beyond can gauge student interest. As with most IRC events, there'll also be yummy snacks.
