Student Musical Theater
Carleton's Student Musical Theatre (SMT) is dedicated to producing quality student-directed, student-produced and student-acted musicals at Carleton. We produce two to three musicals a year. Anyone can propose a show and anyone can audition or participate in any aspect of the production, be it directing, stage managing, lights, sound or set design, costumes, makeup, musical direction, playing in the pit orchestra, vocal coaching, or anything else you can think of! If you feel like it, you can even write a show and perform it.
To propose a show for the following term, download the form on the right and return it to the mailbox of Holly Abel by midnight of the last day of classes of the previous term. If you have any questions at all, contact one of the members of the SMT board: Holly Abel '13, Josh Davids '15, Daisuke Kawachi '13, and Bethany McHugh '15.
This fall SMT will be doing a production of The Story of My Life, directed by Minji Jang '15. The show will feature Joss Olson '14 and Sam Vinitsky '15. We will also be putting on a musical theatre cabaret! For more information on either, contact a member of the board.
