Spring Term - 2011
Long-term goals (next couple years):
- Updating facilities (windows, etc.)
- Holding administration accountable to Climate Action Plan
o Increase Carleton’s energy production
- Increase student sustainability habits
- Have a green roof that serves both sustainability and educational purposes by June 2013
- Continue attending conferences and talking to students at other schools
- Make SRF more accessible (restructure?)
o Pass an SRF proposal every term
Short-term goals (this term):
- Get laundry rack pilot program up and running
- Organize a dinner/talk with representative from government/enviro. org. (David Bly, e.g.)
o When: by/before Earth Week (4th week)
- Use PEAR more effectively to improve transparency about sustainability at Carleton
o Create SOPE Facebook page before spring term
o Post goofy things on the website once a week
o Find a protégé by end of spring term
o By next Wed: all submit a sustainability-related something to the NNB
o Put all SOPE goals on the calendar
- Earth Week:
o 100 people at a movie on the Bald Spot during Green Week
o Celebrate the Earth with the Carleton Druids
- CELEBRATE with party(ies) one night early spring term (4th week)
- Recap end of spring term for following year
