Application Process:

In order for us to process your registration form, we need you to complete the following tasks:

• Complete and sign the APPLICATION. Please rank your independent study options. We will place everyone in their top two choices or offer a refund if we are not able to place you in your top two. Deadline is May 6, 2009.
• Typed response to the ESSAY QUESTION on the application form.
• Send a copy (official or unofficial) of your most recent transcript (please include Fall 2009 grades).
• Pay your deposit for the program. You can mail us a check (payable to Carleton College) with your registration materials or you can PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD.

**Due to student visa requirements, we are not able to accept international students unless they have a U.S. passport.

Financial Assistance:

Application deadline for scholarships is April 2, 2009.

A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available to students applying to the Carleton Summer Science Institute. Based on academic merit and college potential, scholarships will apply to overall tuition, room, and board expenses.

Attendance Policy:

The Carleton Summer Science Institute is a residential program that requires full-time residence at the College, including weekends, for the duration of the program. Students are expected to remain on campus, with the exception of program-sponsored excursions. Only in cases of emergency, and with the program director's approval, may students be absent from the program. No exceptions will be made.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be made in writing. You can send this to: jupdike@carleton.edu

Cancellations received on or before June 5 will be charged $500. Cancellations received after June 5 will be charged $1200. Any cancellations received within 14 days of the start of the program or during the program will result in forfeiture of all fees paid.
