Check out the new Sustainability website

13 May 2012

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably found our new website. If you had ever been to our old website, you’ll understand how big of a deal this is. Our old website was pretty ugly; our new website is beautiful (if I am allowed to say so…props to Nathan in Web Services for the redesign and Jon in Publications for the logo!). Our old website was unorganized and confusing; our new website has been restructured to make finding information easier and more intuitive – it’s even mobile friendly!

First, a brief tour. The site is divided into three main areas: Our Campus, which has details about all of the campus operations, programs, initiatives, happenings, goings-on, and whatever other information you wanted to know about sustainability things happening on campus; Take Action, which lists all the ways you can interact with sustainability at Carleton, whether it is through student groups, classes, or watching old convocations; People and Policies, which provides more information on the people and committees involved with sustainability at Carleton.

Other pages you might find of interest include a waste guide so you know whether or not to compost that take-out box, a one-stop sustainability “how-to” page full of tips for improving your personal sustainability, and a link to Carleton’s current Climate Action Plan, detailing how we intend to become carbon-neutral by 2050.

We hope you enjoy the new website as much as we do. Please contact us if you have any suggestions for improvement, or an idea of something you’d like to see on our site.
