KRLX
Campus radio has been dear to Carleton for nearly 100 years, ever since the physics department took to the airwaves in 1921 to communicate with other colleges. From the advent of the KARL station in 1948 to KRLX today, however, student-run stations have been the radio mainstay.
The Birth of Rotblatt
Rotblatt was born as a men’s intramural softball league in 1964 when a group of sophomores created the new league and, in an inexplicable fit of inspiration, named it in honor of Marvin J. Rotblatt, an eminently forgettable journeyman pitcher for the White Sox in the 1950s.
First Carleton Football Team
Football clubs were popular in the early years of the college, but it was not until 1891 that a team was organized under official sanction.
Inspirational Movement Gospel Choir
The gospel choir Inspirational Movement began performing in 1972 when Michael Monroe '74, then a Carleton junior, formed the group.
