Staying Connected

Carleton's emeriti faculty remain an important part of our campus community.  Following are some of the privileges that continue after retirement.  If you have questions about any of these items, feel free to contact Becky Krogh in the Dean of the College office (bkrogh@carleton.edu).

  • Your e-mail and computing accounts will continue.  If you prefer to receive your e-mail at another e-mail address, the ITS helpdesk can assist you in setting up a forward.
  • You will continue to be listed on the Carleton directory and can update your profile at any time.  Click here for information on how to update your profile.
  • You may continue to use your faculty OneCard for access to the Library and Rec Center, and you can add funds to be used for discounts in the dining halls or other businesses (click here for details). The Campus Services department will be happy to update your photo at any time.
  • Modest research support is available through the Dean’s office. After spending any remaining PDA funds, you may apply for up to $1,500 per academic year by completing and submitting a Fund Request form.
  • You are invited to attend the Emeriti Coffee Gatherings.  You can find the dates and times on the Emeriti Upcoming Events calendar.
  • You may borrow books from the library for a year, request interlibrary loans, use computer searches (unless they are very extensive), and sign up for a book locker.
  • You will continue to receive Carleton Weekly and be added to the retiree e-mail distribution list.  If you do not wish to be included, you may use this form to let us know.
  • You are welcome to attend campus events, including convocations, the garden party, and the Employee Recognition Luncheon.  You are also welcome to march in the procession for Opening Convo, Honors Convo and Commencement. Watch the Upcoming Events calendar on the Emeriti Web site for details.
  • You continue to have access to all Carleton recreation facilities, including fitness classes and personal training sessions.
  • You may audit classes if there isn't a waiting list; check with the instructor.
  • You continue to be eligible for a discount at the Bookstore by identifying yourself as a retired faculty member.
  • A copy of the Voice will be sent to the address we have on file for you.
  • You continue to be eligible for an annual hang tag to allow you to park on campus by completing the motor vehicle registration form at Security Services in Sayles-Hill 205.
