Midwinter Ball, one of Carleton's biggest and best events of the year, has come and gone again for the thirty-first time. Started in 1981 as a Viennese Ball, this event has consistently provided a campus with a really laid-back style the opportunity to get all dolled-up. Three different halls within one connected complex provide students with options of dancing to swing and ballroom music, salsa, or modern tunes from student DJs. Hors d’oeurves such as cheese and crackers, meatballs, fruit, and pastries, are served early in the night and pizza and breadsticks are brought in to close out the evening. Ultimately, the Ball is a celebration amidst mid-terms and freezing temperatures that helps to keep everyone sane and happy for the rest of winter.
