Convocation is a weekly event at Carleton, with experts from a variety of disciplines being asked to speak to the Carleton and Northfield community each Friday. I've found that some of the most memorable and thought-provoking convocations are the ones that focus on issues of social justice. Convo speakers featured in this video spoke on issues such as educational inequality, human trafficking, and prison reform, but the real power behind their words can be seen when talking to the students whose lives were impacted by their talks.
