The Watson Ghost

Minoru Yamasaki — the brilliant architect who designed the World Trade Center, is also the same man who is responsible for designing our beloved Watson Hall. Now that we have that important fact out of the way, lets talk about the ghost.

This ghost has been around for ages and still does not have a name, which is why I am writing this blog.

Special attributes include:

• Constant flushing of the toilets around 3 a.m.

• Lounge lights turn off at exactly 22:43 every night, on every floor

• Small things being moved around in each dorm room without explanation

• Elevator doors opening and closing until you say a Hail Mary

• Entire elevator getting stuck between floors forcing football players to open the doors and crawl out

• Strange sounds in the bathroom while you’re taking a shower, but only when you’re the only one in the restroom

• Sensation of someone/thing watching you — especially in the elevator

• Doors randomly slamming shut while all windows in room are closed

While many residents of Watson Hall have complained about the paranormal activity, I have only experienced half of the things listed above. Despite all of this, the views out of my east-side facing, 5th Watson dorm are incredible at any given time of day.

“How cold does it actually get in Minnesota?”, is the phrase that first-year, Minnesota-born Yadari is already tired of explaining. Besides speaking about the weather, Yadari enjoys working out and doing anything of which shouldn’t be left for tomorrow, today. And of course, long walks on any of the 10,000 lakes here in Minnesota, if and only if they are not frozen solid or a safety hazard. Read on to meet the rest of our bloggers.
