This week I am working on three production projects–one for each of my classes, and wow, it’s hard! It has me thinking back to when I’ve gotten to use media as the source of analysis in classes I’ve taken, which is one of my favorite things to do. That’s why I’m studying cinema and media, I guess. In celebration of the projects that I now get to create, I want to share with you some creations that other people have made–movies, television, and songs. Check them out!

Fave Media I’ve Consumed for Class:

  • Season 3 of Orange Is the New Black (Black Feminist Thought)
  • A Raisin in the Sun (Black Feminist Thought)
  • Lost: Pilot (Writing for Television)
  • Mad Max: Fury Road (Intro to Cinema and Media Studies)
  • In the Mood for Love (Intro to Cinema and Media Studies)
  • Toddlers & Tiaras (Beauty & Race in America)
  • This American Life (Beauty & Race in America)
  • Code Switch (Beauty & Race in America)
  • Days of Heaven (Digital Foundations)
  • Audre Lorde: The Berlin Years (Situated Feminisms)
  • The Orb’s “Little Fluffy Clouds” (Sound & Music in TV & New Media)
  • The Office: Pilot (Sound Studies Seminar)
  • Seinfeld: The Junior Mint (Sound Studies Seminar)
  • WALL-E (Sound Studies Seminar)
  • Jamila Woods’s HEAVN (Sound Studies Seminar)

Lynn is a Cinema and Media Studies/Women’s and Gender Studies double major. She’s from the desert! You can catch her telling jokes with the standup group Queens of Comedy and the improv group Cujokra, or trying to ride her bike without using her hands. She’s really into writing for infemous (Carleton’s feminist zine), working at Dacie Moses (the cookie house), and eating (food). One time she applied for a job at Cakewalk and didn’t get it.
