Dr. Alden Adolph and Dr. Ben Kopec are Arctic scientists who travel to Greenland to study climate by looking at water in its various forms (snow, ice, vapor, and liquid). The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet, and Ben and Alden both work on studying what happens to the snow and ice as these temperatures increase. We will discuss the role of snow in our climate system, how we are changing this system, and how this might impact communities around the world.

C.O.W.S. (Conversations on the Wonders of Science) is a monthly science café in Northfield. The goal of C.O.W.S is to engage with the public to increase scientific literacy and spread excitement about new scientific discoveries. C.O.W.S. is organized by Rika Anderson '06, Sarah Meerts, and Laura Listenberger. Everyone is welcome. Come join us to eat, drink, and talk about the wonders of science! You can also check out the C.O.W.S. website and the Facebook page.

Cost: Purchase your own drinks and/or food. The Hideaway delivers to C.O.W.S at Imminent at 6:00 p.m. for orders placed by 5:30 p.m. Order using the Cloosiv app and use code ZE-KW9Y for 50% off your first order or call the Hideaway at (507) 664-0400.
