Finnriver Farm

Saturday, July 31, 2010, 11 a.m.

Come join us this summer again at the Finnriver Farm, owned by alum Crystie Kisler ’92 in Port Townsend.

While at the farm, you can pick blueberries for $2.50/pound or enjoy tasting some home-brewed hard cider in the farm's tasting room for $5 per person. A cooler will also be available with local cheese, juice, and crackers for purchase.  Please bring your own picnic lunch, appropriate footwear and clothing, sunscreen, water, and cash for making farm purchases.

RSVP to Seattle Club Chair Katharine Bond ’04 by July 26.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: Please keep the following in mind for your safety and enjoyment.

• Finnriver has a port‐o’‐potty on site as well as hand‐wash station.

• No dogs or smoking allowed on the farm.  Please do not pick any produce without permission of the farmers.

• The Chimacum Creek area is undergoing restoration for salmon habitat. Please remain on the bridge and paths. Climbing on the stream banks is prohibited.

• We do keep bees on the farm, for pollination and honey. If you are allergic to bee stings, bring appropriate medications with you.

• We raise chickens and pigs, and have a farm dog named Pippin. We ask you to enjoy them from a safe distance and to avoid touching the animals. Many of the fences surrounding the animals ARE ELECTRIC. Do not touch without asking a farmer.

• Keep away from all farm equipment and machinery, such as tractors and mowers. No climbing the tractors or farm tools!

• Please make sure your kids stay safe by accompanying them at all times on the farm.

• We thank you for respecting the personal property and space of our farm crew and farmer housing.

• Remember, this is a working farm and so the ground may be lumpy and bumpy; the irrigation hoses may be dripping; the shovels may be at rest in a field. Please watch your step.
