Indoor Rock Climbing
Mission Cliffs
2295 Harrison Street, San Francisco (between 19th and 20th Streets)
2 to 4 p.m.

Tol Lau ’05 is leading a special Carleton session of rock climbing at Mission Cliffs in San Francisco. All skill levels are welcome.  Mission Cliffs has a 50 foot high lead climb wall, 14,000 square feet of climbing terrain and 2,000 square feet of bouldering.

Tol began rock climbing at Carleton's Rec Center his freshman year.  By his junior year he was teaching people to belay, set routes and maintain safety equipment. Upon graduating from Carleton, Tol got a job at Touchstone Climbing to set routes at six different Bay Area climbing locations, including Mission Cliffs.  Tol has climbed at locations all over the country.  His favorites are Bishop, Yosemite, and Squamish in British Columbia.

Tickets are available for the climbing event on a very limited basis (20 tickets available), and may be purchased on a first-pay,first-reserved status.

Cost:  $26 per ticket (includes entrance fees, equipment rental and belay safety lessons).  Tickets must be purchased and paid no later than January 20.  Call the Alumni Relations Office at 800-729-2586 to pay by credit card.

Happy Hour

Following our climbing experience, come hang out with fellow Carls at the iconic Homestead in the Mission District, and see who climbed and lived to talk about it!
