Twin Cities Women in Leadership Discussion with Therese Huston '91
"When a Woman Makes a Decision, Does it Make a Sound?" with Therese Huston '91
Wednesday, June 15, 7 p.m.
Magers & Quinn Booksellers
3038 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis
Interested in women and leadership? Join us Wednesday, June 15, at Magers & Quinn Booksellers in Minneapolis for a lively discussion of a new book looking at the science of gender and decision-making, followed by drinks.
Carleton alumna and cognitive scientist Therese Huston '91 will be discussing her book, How Women Decide: What's True, What's Not, and What Strategies Spark the Best Choices (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, May 2016).
Women are receiving a lot of professional advice lately, but once a woman takes a seat at the table, how do people respond to her ideas and decisions? The short answer: with unwarranted skepticism. The New York Times calls Huston’s book "required reading for Wall Street" and Booklist says it's "extraordinarily readable - a profound supplement to Lean In." Huston has written for the New York Times and Harvard Business Review.
Join Therese as she shares takes a careful look at what the scientific research has to say and hear the powerful stories from women she's interviewed. Afterward, we'll walk to a great place nearby - come with suggestions!
