You are cordially invited to attend the Tuesday, October 25, Ettinger Book Artist Series Lecture by Fred Hagstrom, Carleton’s Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art. Hagstrom, a book artist and printmaker (and terrific speaker), will discuss his work, focusing primarily on social, political, and literary issues, and his use of the book form as an art medium. His work will be featured prominently in an exhibition this fall entitled "Illuminating the Issue: Artist Books as Social/Political Critique" in the Library's 4th Floor Exhibition Gallery adjacent to Special Collections, Oct. 10 - Dec. 2011.

Carleton alumni, parents, and friends also are invited to a private dutch-treat dinner the previous evening, Monday, October 24, at the North Shore Bistro.  If you are interested in attending this dinner, please contact Christine Symchych '91 by Friday, October 21.

If you need assistance, contact the Alumni Relations Office at 800-729-2586 or alumni-office@carleton.edu.

Hagstrom is the recipient of three Blandin Fellowship grants, a McKnight Foundation Fellowship, and a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant.

Hagstrom’s visit and public lecture are supported by the Ettinger Family Foundation.
