201 Mercer Street, Seattle (formerly the Intiman Playhouse)

6:30-7:20 pm: Private Reception
Enjoy a private reception with Seattle Shakespeare Company’s Managing and Artistic Directors in the Playhouse Theatre’s Founders Room. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Seattle Shakespeare Company’s work in the community, as well as gain insights on the artistic choices for this production. Wine and light appetizers will be served.

7:30-10:00 pm: Reserved seating to The Taming of the Shrew
Following the reception, sit back and enjoy the show! Our production of The Taming of the Shrew brings one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies into the 21st century. In this production, the tempestuous and sharp-tongued Kate was brought up in a rough and forgotten corner of backwoods America and lives in the Padua trailer park with her mother and sister. Petruchio swaggers into town with a plan to steal Kate’s guarded heart. Through bickering and brawling, their comic courtship is a no-holds-barred battle of the sexes that results in a love and understanding that neither one imagined. The production is directed by Aimée Bruneau and stars David Quicksall as Petruchio and Kelly Kitchens as Kate. Please visit www.seattleshakespeare.org for more information on this unique production.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at https://apps.carleton.edu/alumni/clubs/events/shrew/ . The price includes refreshments during the reception and your ticket for the play.
