Crafts for the Non-Crafty
with Lisa Ryan '82 & Kathleen DeManivel '78

Sunday, December 6, 2020
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. CST
via Zoom

Part I with Lisa Ryan '82: Learn to make: a plastic yarn (plarn) from recycled plastic bags to crochet a mat.

Part II with Kathleen DeManivel '78: Design your own simple floral arrangement and learn a bit of history of floral design.

Register to receive Zoom meeting link.

Supplies needed:

Part I: plastic grocery bags, crochet hook (size Q or largest available), and scissors.

Part II: narrow necked wine bottle, soda bottle or bud vase as well as at least 3 same colored flowers (roses, carnations, mums, irises, etc) with stems about twice the height of the vase and if you have room in the narrow necked bottle you could add extra foliage or filler.

Lisa Wehmeyer Ryan ‘82 retired in 2017 from a career as a geologist. She occupies her time now doing all the same things she did back at Carleton when she was trying to decide on a major (swimming, dabbling in the arts, and wandering around outside).

Kathleen DeManivel '78 is a retired physician auditing a senior citizen class in floral design at the University of Minnesota.
