Snowshoe Outing

Saturday, March 10, 2012, 10 a.m.

 

South Chicago Creek Trail

 

Please join alums, parents and friends in the Colorado Carleton Club for a day of snowshoeing, followed by food and beverages at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs. We will explore the South Chicago Creek Trail, a 2.8-mile round-trip trek through thick forest. The trail has a gradual incline, with total elevation gain of 700 feet. Please bring all the gear you will need, including snowshoes and boots, warm clothes, water, snacks, and payment for Beau Jo's. For more information or to RSVP, contact Tim Cook no later than Wednesday, March 7.

The group will meet at the trailhead at 10 a.m.  When making reservations, please indicate if you need a ride or have space to carpool, and we will coordinate transportation.

Directions

I-70 Idaho Springs exit #240 – Hwy. 103. Go south on Hwy. 103, take the right at the Dead End sign, which is Hefferman Gulch Road. Go past the cabins 1.5 miles and make a left at the fork. Park in the level parking area and cross back over the creek to the trailhead.

To get to Beau Jo's, head north on Hwy. 103 to Miner Street. Turn right on Miner and look for parking. The address for Beau Jo's is 1517 Miner Street, Idaho Springs, CO 80452. The group will meet for lunch at approximately 1:00 p.m.
