Join Professor Serena Zabin for a discussion of her new book about the beginning of the American Revolution. The Boston Massacre: A Family History recounts the famous event from an engagingly human perspective.

Serena Zabin has taught at Carleton since 2000. A member of the History department, she also directs the American Studies program and serves as the Broom Fellow for Public Scholarship. Her work on the Boston Massacre has garnered major grants from many agencies, including the National Endowment for the Humanities (twice) and the American Council of Learned Societies. Besides The Boston Massacre, she is the author of two other books. In cooperation with Professor Austin Mason, she has been working with Carleton students for several years on a serious video game about the Boston Massacre.

Professor Zabin will speak from 7 to 7:30 p.m., with a Q&A to follow from 7:30 to 7:50 p.m. She will sign books from 7:50 to 8:15 p.m. Following the event, there will be a gathering with Professor Zabin at Grafton Street Pub & Grill, hosted by Susie Pham '12.

Cost: The book talk is free. Purchase your own food and/or drink at the gathering.
