Erica Lord '01, an up-and-coming mixed media artist whose photographs are included in the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts' current exhibition, Our People, Our Land, Our Images, will discuss her work, past and present. As a child, she moved between her father’s native village in Newana, Alaska and her mother’s community in the Upper Peninsula. Erica's nomadic experiences fuel her exploration of displacement, cultural identity, and cultural limbo in her art. Her visit to Kalamazoo is sponsored by the Kalamazoo College Department of Art and Art History and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and has been organized by Prof. Christine Hahn '96 and Curator of Education Michelle Stempien '93.
