Our speaker this month is Ashwini Ramaswamy '03, Director of Publicity and Marketing, Ragamala Dance.  Ashwini will discuss how Ragamala Dance takes an ancient, classical dance form from South India and brings it into the contemporary world.  She will give some background about the company and then discuss the upcoming world premiere of Sacred Earth, which combines live music, art and dance.

Founded in 1992, Ragamala Dance has been featured at prestigious festivals and theaters worldwide for presenting innovative works within the classical tradition of Bharatanatyam, the dance of southern India. For more details, visit http://www.ragamala.net/
