Greetings to all Bay Area Carls in the Classes of 1960-1969,

The Carleton Class of '65 has been planning a potluck picnic at Live Oak Park for about a month. As the day draws near we find that we have plenty of room for more participants and would like to share the invitation with a few classes who graduated before and some after us.

We are having such a good time planning our 50th reunion and meeting former classmates, we thought it might be good to learn from those who have gone before and share some of our experiences with those who will come after. We are sure some of you will know each other but we suspect that even if you don't, you'll find many of us have things in common (not just Carleton) to share - like love of the Bay Area, traveling, grandchildren, etc. We're planning for beautiful weather and will be looking forward to a great day in Berkeley. Spouses, partners, friends, children and grandchildren are welcome—come one, come all!

When: Sunday, April 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: We have reserved a spot at Live Oak Park on the 1300 block of Walnut in Berkeley. As the date approaches, we will send you a link with a map and driving directions.

RSVPRSVP online by April 1 (to help with planning). Late-deciders won't be turned away.

Please Bring: We will provide water and a variety of soft drinks, plates, cups, and napkins—all environmentally responsible, we promise—and ask that you bring a dish to share for our potluck. To make sure that we do not end up with all desserts, we suggest that you bring a dish according to your last name:

A to H        Salads
I to Q         Entrees
R to Z        Desserts

If your food specialty is not in the category assigned to you, no worries—go ahead and bring your favorite food. Also, we ask that you bring your own utensils and serving utensils.

Directions:: Some of you who know Berkeley may have a more favorite route - feel free to use that - these are probably the simplest. If you choose to use an online map, avoid Mapquest - their directions in this case do not make sense. Google Maps directions are good.

Turn Left onto Hopkins St. go 0.1 mile

The picnic area is adjacent to a large sign saying BERKELEY ART CENTER. (There will not be a large sign there for Live Oak Park. Do not be confused - you are in the right spot.) Parking will be on the street - you might have to drive around the block to find a spot but parking is free and unlimited anywhere - the two hour signs are not for Sundays

If you have any questions, any one of the three of us would be happy to talk with you. We look forward to seeing you!
