Join the Chicago Carleton Club for its Fall Book Talk and Networking Event with Professor Andrew Flory. Professor Flory is director of Carleton's American Music program and teaches courses in American music, focusing on jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll. His talk will discuss his work, along with his forthcoming book: I Hear a Symphony: Listening to the Music of Motown, from The University of Michigan Press. The book talk will begin at 6:00 p.m., in the Columbia College Chicago's Center for Black Music Research 3rd Floor Reading Room. Light refreshments will be served. There will be an opportunity to purchase a copy of Prof. Flory's book and have it signed. Following the talk, Samir S. Bhala '12, will host a happy hour at Bar Louie at 8:00 p.m. Rock on!

Cost: Prof. Flory's book will be available for purchase if you are interested. At the networking event, purchase your own drinks and/or food.
