With Osmo Vänskä conducting, world class Fora Baltacigil on the double bass, and a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s showpiece Capriccio espannol, this is a concert you won’t want to miss. Additional selections include Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. Harbison’s Bass Concerto, and Copland’s crowd-pleasing ballet Rodeo.

Join us beforehand for a concert preview and reception with Richard Marshall P’10, co-principal violist of the orchestra. The orchestra with Vänskä conducting was recently nominated for a Grammy for “Best Classical Recording”.
