Disconnected at the Mpls-St. Paul International Film Festival

Sunday, April 27, 5:00 p.m.

St. Anthony Theater, 115 Main St NE, Minneapolis

This feature-length (74-minute) film asks the question, "How long could you go without a computer?" To find out, Disconnected follows three Carleton students as they take on the challenge of ditching all computers to see how their academic, work, and social lives are affected.

Conceived, filmed, and edited the movie in a documentary production class, eight Carleton students contributed to the movie: Reed Langton-Yanowitz '11, Julian Laurent '08, Chel Lundin '08, Caitlin Magnusson '09, Jerome Potter '09, Tom Schmidt '08, Andrew Tatge '09, and Ezra Velazquez '10. The project was under the guidance of Melody Gilbert, visiting instructor in cinema and media studies and an accomplished documentary filmmaker, and Wain Yee, educational associate for cinema and media studies.

Stay after the movie for a reception and a chance to meet the student film makers.

Tickets are $9.00 online ( http://www.mspfilmfest.org/ ) or $10 at the door. Buy your tickets soon--The theater where Disconnected will be shown seats only 150 people and a sell-out is anticipated.
