Join Carleton alumni, parents, family, and friends for a timely and "revoluntionary" Bastille Day program by Rob Scarlett '66 -- "2011, A Bad Year for Elites: The Forces behind the Middle East Uprisings."  Rob's talk will draw from what he's learned through his decades-long relationship with Dr. Hernando de Soto, a Peruvian economist, author, and adviser to government leaders around the world.  De Soto is an expert on the "informal economy" and has chastised the United States for weakening its own financial regulatory system.  Rob's discussion will feature a different way of thinking about a host of problems facing the world - including considering where these disruptive forces may arise next - and is sure to appeal to critical and independent thinkers like you!

Treat yourself to a great program and a tasty and inexpensive breakfast. Reservations are not necessary. Suggestions for speakers are always welcome. Contact Becky Zrimsek '89 at bzrimsek@carleton.edu in the Alumni Relations Office with your ideas.
