at the

Smithsonian’s Freer Gallery of Art
Jefferson Drive at 12th St. SW
Washington, DC

Please join Carleton alumni, parents and friends for a docent-guided tour of the rich and diverse collections of the Freer Gallery of Art.  Learn about the history of the museum and its outstanding holdings of works from China, Japan, Korea, South and Southeast Asia, the ancient Near East, the Islamic world, and late nineteenth-century American art.  Founder Charles Lang Freer’s understanding and appreciation of art and art history shaped his personal collection and his vision for the first Smithsonian museum devoted to the fine arts.  Discover how he viewed Asian and American art as a collector and connoisseur in the late nineteenth century.

Please note that this tour is limited to 30 people.  There is no charge for this event.  To reserve a spot or if you have any questions, contact Jessica Goad ’07.
