The Battle of the Midway: Turning the Tide of the Pacific

Jon Parshall '85 invites you to the lecture he is giving at the WWII Historic Roundtable for the Minnesota Historical Society. Previously untapped sources including Japanese Imperial Navy records provide new explanations of the June 1942 Battle of Midway, where a weakened U.S. carrier force achieved naval victory that turned the tide of the Pacific war. Veterans of the U.S.S. Yorktown and Midway naval aviation will also be present to answer questions. After the event, Jon will be signing copies of his book, "Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway."
