NASA Ames Research Park

UPDATE - This tour filled within 30 minutes of sending out the email invitation. We will determine if this opportunity could be offered again in the future. Thank you!

Please join us for a visit to the NASA Ames Research Center park, led by Carleton alumna Lisseth Gavilan '07. Lisseth is currently a NASA postdoctoral fellow in the Space Science & Astrobiology division and would love to show fellow Carls (and families!) around the campus and present some of the research currently done at Ames.

We will meet at the visitor center and start with a short tour of the model satellites and rovers on Mars, the SOFIA telescope, the Mercury Redstone capsule, and of course get cool NASA gifts. We will then walk in Moffett Field for about 15 minutes towards the Moffett Field Historical Society Museum for a short stop, and conclude the visit at Hangar One, one of the most historical landmarks of the south bay.

The visit should last about an hour. Visitors 18 and older must have a photo ID to enter Moffett Field. Visitors under 18 do not need an ID, but must be accompanied by someone over 18 with an ID. For those interested, join us for lunch at the Shoreline Lake Boathouse (3160 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, CA 94043) around 12:30 p.m.

Cost: There is no fee for the tour. Purchase your own food/drink at lunch.

The tour will be limited to 20 people. The form will close when the tour is full.

Directions: Google Maps can be used for directions.
