Summer Send-Off Picnic

Sunday, July 29, 2007, 4 to 6 p.m.

at

Quarry Hill Nature Center (round pavilion)

701 Silver Creek Road N.E., Rochester

Join Carleton alumni, parents, current students and incoming students and families for a summer potluck picnic and Carleton conversation as we salute the class of 2011 before they head off to Carleton. Please bring your own eating utensils and beverages as well as a dish to share, such as: hot or cold dish, fruits, veggies, chips, dips or desserts. Because incoming Carleton students will be in attendance, no alcohol please.

This park is open to the public so you can come early and stay late to do some hiking within your own families or small groups. There are washrooms open until 8 p.m. There are no grills available so bring your own if you wish.

Cost: $5 per person to cover rental of the pavillion (you can pay at the event).

Directions to Quarry Hill Nature Center

1. Coming from the east (Winona area) on Hwy 14. Take Hwy 14 to Circle Drive/County 22 (by the Community College). Turn right onto Circle Drive/County 22. Go through the next stop light, over the railroad tracks, and the Nature Center turn off is on your left (Silver Creek Road). Weave down Silver Creek Road and you will run into the nature center parking lot.

2. Coming from the north on Hwy 52 (Twin Cities area): Heading south on Hwy 52, take the 37th Street exit. You will need to cross over the highway, so that you are heading east on 37th Street. You will go about 2-3 miles on 37th Street. Eventually you will come to the top of a hill (you will see a Kwik Trip, Morman Church, and High School). Continue on 37th down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, you will see a sign for Quarry Hill Nature Center on your right (if you reach the railroad tracks you have gone too far). Turn right onto Silver Creek road and weave your way to our parking lot.

3. Coming from Interstate 90, take the Hwy 52 north exit. Once you get onto Hwy 52 north, follow the same directions as in #2 from Hwy 52.

4. Coming from the north on Hwy 63/Broadway. If you are heading south on Hwy 63, you will intersect 37th Street. Take a left onto 37th and follow directions as in #2.
