Minnesota School Levies:  Winners and Losers

Thursday, November 10, 2011, 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Perkins Restaurant
4201 W. 78th Street (near I-494 & France Avenue)

One would hope that students are the focus.  But is that truly the case?  Are the levies about the students or the adults in the district?

Prior to founding John Cairns Law, P.A., in February 2008, John worked for 19 years at Briggs & Morgan, P.A.  His law practice is focused on charter schools and tax-exempt organizations.  He has been published in Harvard Business Review and Education Week, and speaks frequently about public education and school reform.  John is a former president of the Minneapolis City Council, former executive director of the Minnesota Business Partnership, and served as co-principal of a research and design team funded by the New American Schools Development Corporation.

Treat yourself to a great program and a tasty and inexpensive breakfast.  Reservations are not necessary.  Suggestions for speakers are always welcome.  Contact Breakfast Series Coordinator Bob Carlson '68 with your ideas.
