Theatre On Stage and On Screen

May 11, 2017

A busy theatrical weekend at Carleton as the Carleton Players wrap up their season with the final three performances of OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD, and the occasional Theatre on Screen series features a performance of AMADEUS, recorded live in London at Great Britain's National Theatre.

OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD, Timberlake Wertenbaker's award-winning drama of convicts in an Australian penal colony staging a play, performs Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Weitz Center Theatre.  Directed by Prof. Roger Bechtel, OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD is ultimately about the redemptive power of art.

Sunday, May 14 will see a screening of Peter Shaffer's drama AMADEUS at 2:00 in the Weitz Center Cinema.  Recorded live in London at the National Theatre, AMADEUS spins an exciting yarn about the rivalry between Court Composer Antonio Salieri and the young upstart Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

All events are free and open to the public.
