"The Last of the Red Hot Lovers," directed by Freddy Stein '14
6th weekend, ETB presents "The Last of the Red Hot Lovers" by Neil Simon, directed by Freddy Stein '14. The show runs Feb. 7- Feb. 9.
"The Last of the Red Hot Lovers," by Neil Simon, follows the attempts by the main character, Barney Cashman, a middle-aged, married man who wishes to join the sexual revolution before it is too late. The show follows as Barney fails in each of three seductions: Elaine Navazio, a sexpot; Bobbi Michele, an actress; and Jeannette Fisher, his wife's best friend.
Clive Barnes, in his review in The New York Times wrote: "He is as witty as ever...but he is now controlling that special verbal razzle-dazzle that has at times seemed mechanically chill... There is the dimension of humanity to its humor so that you can love it as well as laugh at it."
