An Evening with Jimmy Santiago Baca

Please join us in welcoming acclaimed poet, Jimmy Santiago Baca, for a reading from his new book, When I Walk Through that Door, I Am: An Immigrant Mother's Quest.

Book signing following the reading. Books will be available for purchase before and after the event courtesy of Content Books.

In preparation for Mr. Baca's visit, please join us for a screening of the film inspired by his memoir, A Place to Stand, on Monday, April 15, 7PM in Boliou 104. Refreshments provided. 

Sponsored by American Studies, Arts@Carleton, Broom Fellow for Public Scholarship, CCCE, Educational Studies, English and the Northfield Poet Laureate.

Mr. Baca will also be visiting 2 prisons, MCF-Stillwater and MCF-Faribault, in support of the Minnesota Prison Writers Workshop, along with Humanities/American Literature students at South High School in Minneapolis.
