Dr. Falstaff and the Working Wives of Lake County: A Picnic Operetta

Sun, October 7, 2018 • 2:00pm - 4:00pm (2h) • Monument Hill in the Upper Arboretum

In the event of rain, the performance will be held in Weitz Commons. Please check the Mixed Precipitation Facebook page for weather updates!

Mixed Precipitation brings its new picnic operetta, an adaptation of Otto Nicolai's German opera The Merry Wives of Windsor with a bit of MN history and Bruce Springsteen thrown in, to Carleton's Cowling Arboretum on Sunday, 10/07. The show takes place on the shores of Lake Superior, where the taconite plant has gone bust and jobs are leaving town fast. Enter the sleazy Dr. Falstaff and a trio of tough working gals who want to run him out of town. Enjoy the show along with a five-course tasting menu of locally grown, performance-inspired food. Mixed Precipitation will provide food, beverages, picnic blankets, bug spray, sunscreen, and entertainment for the whole family!

This event is free and open to the public. Limited parking is available at the Recreation Center. Follow the paved trail from in front of the Recreation Center to the grove of pine trees at Monument Hill.
