Batikh screening
After receiving a 2017 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative grant, Sarah Abdel-Jelil (Carleton '16) created “Batikh,” a dance time-lapse film. This project is an extension and expansion on her CAMS COMPS, in which she combined slow movement with time-lapse video as a way of inviting people to move with each other and the world around them. Throughout the project/grant period, Sarah collaborated with Theresa (Producer), Gisell (Director of Photography), Shaylin (Director's Assistant), Veronica (Director's Assistant), Leila (dancer), AJ (dancer), Carolyn (dancer), and many incredible volunteers to explore choreography and community. The screening includes a community dance time-lapse shoot that took place in October and welcomed public participation.
