Hippocrates Café at Carleton

Mon, May 14, 2018 • 7:00pm - 8:30pm (1h 30m) • Weitz Theater

The Humanities Center collaborates with MPR medical news analyst and UMN physician Jon Hallberg to bring the award winning Hippocrates Café for a performance at Carleton.

Join professors and students from the following 3 classes for an evening show featuring professional Twin Cities actors and musicians as they put on a live performance that explores issues of social justice in medicine, access to health care, and serving patients with HIV:

  • Biology 370: Selected Topics in Virology (Debby Walser-Kuntz)
  • History 262: Public Health: History, Policy, Practice (Amna Khalid)
  • Religion 224: Religion, Science, and Modern Imagination (Mara Block)

Hippocrates Café combines performing arts and medicine. It is a live show that uses professional actors and musicians to explore healthcare topics through story and song. Creator and host Jon Hallberg, MD, introduces show topics and provides narration throughout, giving context for all pieces.
