- 8:30 am - August Ducharme
- 9:00 am - Lea Gould will present Home is where the bird flies. A short film that explores the process of grief through a vivid and subjective experience. The viewer follows the character through her daily routine which soon starts to merge with her abstract dreams of becoming a bird.
- 9:30 am - Lina Fisher presents _____, Texas. The film is a short exploration of the dynamics of group identities within the context of a shared geography. How do processes of immigration and gentrification change collective senses of identity? What does it mean to be Texan?
- 10:00 am - Haley Lunde presents Wildfire, a short script that invokes a new perspective on the femme fatale trope through female empowerment, queer identity, and the disruption of the patriarchal structures that try to define her.
10:30 am - coffee break
- 10:45 am - Seth Calvin presents Ebb and Flow, a short 15 minute screenplay.
- 11:15 am - Lucas Winter
- 11:45 am - Adam Wiener will present Assimilating Disney: Genre & Ideology in the Disney Channel Original Movie. For many millennials and Gen Z'ers, watching Disney Channel Original Movies was a routine part of growing up. In this paper, I revisit some of these films and analyze them through the lens of genre and Marxist theories. What were these strange, silly films communicating? And how did they shape my identity? I will also present a short video essay on the subject.
