Falcons slip past Knights in five sets

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Carleton College volleyball team dropped a tough five-set match at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Wednesday evening, falling by a final tally of 14-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 15-9.

With the result, the Falcons (10-1) were able to avenge their only loss so far this season, while the Knights (2-5) lost in five sets for the third time this season. Carleton out-hit UW-River Falls, .211 to .134, but the Knights were hampered by 14 service errors.

Lucy Stevens (Sr./Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) and Faith Skinner (Jr./La Crosse, Wis./Central) both registered a match-best 11 kills, while Abby Loe (Fy./Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley) collected 10 kills and 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.

Katie Tritschler (Sr./Los Altos, Calif./Los Altos) brought up a team-best 21 digs, and Lauren Pak (Fy./Moraga, Calif./Campolindo) spread out 33 assists.

Carleton returns home to host UW-Superior on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Knights Online will provide live video and stats.
