Caroline Mather tabbed Swimmer-of-the-Week

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Carleton College junior Caroline Mather (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista) was selected by as the MIAC women’s swimmer-of-the-week. Her weekend included a pair of individual victories and a trio of runner-up results.

Mather won the 200-yard freestyle during last Friday’s dual meet at Gustavus Adolphus with a time of 2:00.95. She placed second in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races with marks of 24.70 and 55.17, respectively. Mather also swam on the Knights’ 200-yard freestyle relay that posted a time of 1:42.47.

The following day, she bested the 32-swimmer field to win the 50-yard freestyle at the Luther Sprint Invite with her time of 24.78. Mather finished second out of 22 racers in the 100-yard IM (1:04.82) and helped the Knights take second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.03).

The Knights will host the College of Saint Benedict for a meet at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20.
