BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Carleton College forward Kevin Grow (Sr./Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial) landed on the Top 100 watch list for the Beco Franciso Award, the organization Small College Basketball (SCB) announced this week.

The award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball, which spans NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.

Grow leads the MIAC in scoring (18.9), rebounding (12.0), blocked shots (2.1), and double-doubles (11). He is one of only two D-III players to currently average at least 17.0 points, 10.0  rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. (University of Dallas’ star Spencer Levi—a fellow watchlist member—is the other).

Grow is third in Division III in double-doubles, seventh in rebounding, and 21st in scoring.

Already a three-time All-MIAC performer, All-Region pick, and NABC All-District selection, Grow has solidified himself as one of the best players in Carleton history. Earlier this season he eclipsed the 1,000-point career scoring mark and set the Carleton record for the most career rebounds. Grow already held the Carleton record for most career blocks.

Grow is the only MIAC athlete to be placed on the Bevo Francis Award watch list since the honor began during the 2015-2016 season. Grow also looks to become the first Division III player to win the award. The honor previously went to Dominez Burnett of Davenport (Mich.) in 2016 and Justin Pitts of Northwest Missouri State in 2017.

SCB will trim its Watch List to 50 players on Feb. 15, and the list will be narrowed down to 25 players on March 15. The finalists will be revealed on March 31.

The 2018 Bevo Francis Award winner will be announced on April 2.
