Small contingent of Knights compete at WashU Mini Meet

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eight members of the Carleton College women’s track and field team got the outdoor season started at the WashU Mini Meet.

Junior Emma Thomley (Cannon Falls, Minn./Cannon Falls) was the most experienced of the Knights, with five members of the octet rookies and two others in their sophomore campaign.

Thomley’s best showing came in the 400-meter dash where she placed fifth in a person-best time of 1:00.98. She also establish a PR (27.05) in the 200-meter dash as well as measuring 4.74 meters in the long jump, the second-best distance of her collegiate career.

Anna Grove (So./Morris, Minn./Morris Area) established a new personal best of 21.31 meters in the javelin. She also competed in the 200-meter dash (28.53), high jump (1.35 meters), and shot put (9.52 meters).

Maggy Osha (So./Oakland, Calif./Athenian School) established personal bests for the outdoor 100-meter (14.21) and 200-meter (29.99) dashes.

Ineke Cordova (Fy./Denver, Colo./Denver Christian) and Keyra English (Fy./Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) raced in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, posting times of 13.31 and 13.44, respectively, at the shorter distance with times of 27.39 and 28.63 for the longer competition.

Eve Farrell (Fy./Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi) competed in four events, clocking times of 30.01 and 1:07.25 for the 200- and 400-meter dashes. She cleared 1.45 meters in the high jump and measured 3.97 meters in the long jump.

Sydney Marsh (Fy./Austin, Minn./Austin) opened the season with a time of 1:14.98 in the 400-meter hurdles. She also measured 4.59 meters in the long jump and 18.65 meters in the javelin.

Allegra Pihlaja (Fy./Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) was the lone distance runner to participate for Carleton. She crossed the line in the 1500-meter run at 5:24.24 and finished at 11:34.80 in the 3000-meter race.

Cordova, Thomley, English, and Marsh combined on a time of 52.11 in the 4x100-meter relay.

Carleton next competes at the Hamline Invite slated for Saturday, April 6 in St. Paul, Minn.
