WAVERLY, Iowa – The No. 1-ranked Carleton College women’s golf team put all six of its golfers—including one Knight playing as an individual—inside the top-8 as the squad cruised to the team victory at the Wartburg Spring Invitational.

The Knights have now won 19 of their last 21 events, with the other two results over this stretch being top-seven finishes at each of the last two NCAA Championships.

Carleton finished the 36-hole tournament at 322-307=629 (+53), pulling away from runner-up Central College (687), host Wartburg College (690), and the rest of the seven-team field.

Ziyi Wang (Sr./Beijing City, China/Lighthouse Christian Academy) won for the third time this season, posting scores of 77 and 76 for a nine-over par 153.

Alexis Chan (So./Castle Rock, Colo./Rock Canyon) played as an individual but shined with a final round 74. That matched her career best and vaulter her into second place (81-74=155, +11) on the leaderboard. Alyssa Akiyama (Jr./Terrace Park, Ohio/Seven Hills School) also posted a 74 on Sunday and captured third place (82-74=156, +12).

Abby Euyang (So./Seattle, Wash./Lakeside) and Ayumi Sakamoto (Sr./Honolulu, Hawaii/ʻIolani School) tied for fifth place. Both Euyang (81-80=161, +17) and Sakamoto (82-79=161, +17) improved upon their opening round scores for the second straight week.
