LA CROSSE, Wis. – Competing under the lights at the Phil Esten Challenge on Friday night, sophomore Lucas Mueller (St. Paul, Minn./Nova Classical Academy) and senior Tris Dodge (Oakland, Calif./College Prep) went 1-2 in the 10,000-meter run, rewriting the Carleton College men’s track and field history books along the way.

In a strong field of 50 runners, Mueller came out victorious with a time of 29:45.74, the second-best mark in school history – just behind Hart Hornor’s 29:35. Dodge was the next runner across the finish line, notching a time of 30:14.39, good for fourth-best all-time in program annals.

Both Knights are seeking a spot in the event at the national meet at the end of the season, held May 23-25 in Geneva, Ohio. Mueller currently ranks No. 3 in the country, and Dodge is No. 10.

The Knights host the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 20. The first events begin at 9:30 a.m.. A link to live results is available via Knights Online as is a link to the live video feed, which will begin at approximately 11:00 a.m.
