Carleton softball calls Ele Hansen Field their on campus home. Located just north of the Carleton Recreation Center, the field was originally constructed prior to the 2010 season, and thanks to significant support from Carleton alumni, has undergone significant improvements since the Knights debuted on their current field.

The field is complimented by the beautiful surrounding scenery of the Cowling Arboretum, as well as the hill of three oaks area just south of the right field fence. Currently one of the top college fields in Minnesota, the on-campus facility features twin 70' batting cages, four practice mounds, spacious dugout areas for both teams and a fully enclosed press box above the main bleachers.

The field is named after longtime Carleton softball coach, physical education professor and department chair Eleanor 'Ele' Hansen, who is remembered as one of the true matriarchs of women's athletics at Carleton. A highly dedicated physical educator and coach, Hansen was responsible for appointing Carleton's first women's athletic director in 1970 and remained a sharp, feisty and fierce advocate for women's sports for decades.
