Why did you decide to come to Carleton?

I chose to come to Carleton because I felt the most at home at Carleton out of all of the schools I visited. Carleton's great academics were also a big draw for me.

What have been some of the differences between college and high school sports?

I never had a strength coach or an athletic trainer available to me in high school, so it's been different having these resources available to me. The Carleton swim team is also much larger than my club and high school swim teams were.

What are you most looking forward to next season?

I had a great season this year, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the training I do in this off season impacts what I'll be able to do next year.

What do you enjoy most about your sport?

Being able to form friendly rivalries with the other swimmers in my events and competing against them over the course of the season is one of my favorite parts of competitive swimming.

How do you maintain a balance between sports and other activities at Carleton? What else are you involved in?

I usually try to prioritize my schoolwork first, then swimming, and then everything else. The coaches are understanding when something comes up though, so balancing school, swimming, and other extracurriculars has been manageable. Outside of swimming, I spend my time participating in Ebony dances, dabbling in IM sports, and playing Super Smash Brothers with my floor mates.

What are some of your team's traditions?

Post-practice Burton dinners, the donut challenge, and the men's team dinners on training trip are some of my favorite team traditions.

What is your favorite thing about Carleton?

I've really enjoyed how many different interests are represented at Carleton. Over the past two years, I've gotten to try extracurriculars that I'm not sure I would have found at other schools.
