Kent Hanson tabbed MIAC Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Carleton College junior forward Kent Hanson (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) earned recognition as the MIAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week. This is his second career weekly honor.

Hanson scored 24 or more points in each of Carleton’s three games as he averaged 27.3 points and 9.0 rebounds. He began the week by shooting 73 percent overall en route to a career-best 32-point effort in a road win over UW-Eau Claire. He wrapped up the week with 26 points and 11 rebounds at Bethel, notching his third double-double of the season. In between, Hanson turned in a solid 24-point, eight-rebound performance against UW-River Falls. He totaled six assists and four steals during the week as well.

Thanks to his strong week, Hanson climbed to third among MIAC players in scoring this season at 18.9 points per contest. He is averaging 7.8 rebounds, ranking sixth in the conference.
