NORTHFIELD, Minn. – One day after receiving recognition as the conference player of the week, Carleton College junior forward Kent Hanson (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) was selected to the five-player national Team of the Week.

He started the week with a career-best 32-point effort as Carleton overcame a double-digit deficit to secure a 79-74 road win over UW-Eau Claire. Hanson shot a season-best 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the field, including 60 percent from three-point range.

Hanson scored 24 or more points in each of Carleton’s three games as he averaged 27.3 points and 9.0 rebounds.

In the lone home game of the week, he turned in a solid 24-point, eight-rebound performance against UW-River Falls. The Knights erased a 19-point deficit before dropping the non-conference contest, 81-71,

Hanson wrapped up his week with 26 points and 11 rebounds at Bethel, notching his third double-double of the season.

Thanks to his strong week, Hanson climbed to third among MIAC players in scoring this season at 18.9 points per contest. He is averaging 7.8 rebounds, ranking sixth in the conference. Hanson is one of only 31 players across the country to achieve both statistical levels.
